What Is Food Synergy?

Food synergy is a new concept in the field of nutrition science that suggests the nutritional values of some foods can be enhanced through particular food combinations.

Whole food combinations (synergies) are piquing the interest of researchers and nutritionists because of their impact on disease prevention, heart disease, cancer, chronic diseases, and even weight loss.

Consider the synergistic power of having three powerful plants in one juice!

“The truth is that there are all sorts of examples of food synergy at work in research published over the last five years,” says Elaine Magee, MPH, RD, author of Food Synergy. “We know now that in so many cases, the power in food is in the package, not the individual components.”

The more you incorporate powerhouse foods and beverages into your day, Magee adds, the less room there is for the more processed and nutrient-poor foods and beverages.

Three Juices In One! TrioMax includes BarleyMax, BeetMax, and CarrotJuiceMax, each of which contain some of the highest concentrations of certain nutrients in the entire plant kingdom.

BarleyMax is made exclusively with young barley grass and alfalfa grass, known for their exceptionally high levels of chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll helps increase heart function, improves the vascular system, cleanses the liver of heavy metals and chemical toxins, and cleanses and improves the health of the intestines, uterus, and lungs.

The grasses used in BarleyMax also contain the mysterious “grass juice factor” which has myriad health benefits including the yet-unexplained ability to facilitate the body’s natural ability to heal itself. In fact, a recent test revealed that BarleyMax prevents DNA damage. It is believed that DNA damage is one of the initiating steps of many disease processes, including cancer.

TrioMax also includes dehydrated beet juice (BeetMax), which adds blood cleansing to the list of benefits. Beet’s nutrients contribute to cardiovascular health, proper digestion, proper circulation and cholesterol levels. Beet juice is also being investigated as a way to improve athletic stamina.

CarrotJuiceMax is the third and final component of the TrioMax combination. Carrots used to make CarrotJuiceMax contain one of the world’s richest sources of naturally occurring carotenoids, especially the antioxidant beta-carotene. Beta-carotene is a precursor to vitamin, which is converted to vitamin A as the body needs it.

CarrotJuiceMax also has a broad spectrum of antioxidant activity, which minimizes free radical damage.

This combination of BarleyMax, CarrotJuiceMax, and BeetMax results in the most comprehensive nutrient profile of any Hallelujah Diet® whole food concentrate... and it tastes great!

Customer Reviews

Barley Max, Carrot Max, Beet Max (11/26/2010)
I'm excited to try the new product, but I love my barley max berry and my carrot max grapefruit ginger and my beet max all mixed together, so I'm not sure how I'll like the original barley max and the original carrot max mixed with the beet max without the berry and the grapefruit ginger. I'd like to try a sample instead of buying a whole container, because I'm real satisfied mixing it together myself.

Triomax (4/12/2011)
Love this combo. much sweeter together then separate. Very simply to use. I've been taking Barley Max before it was called by that name.

TrioMax (8/22/2011)
Would be interested in seeing how many ounces are mixed with water or other ingredient.

How long does it last you. (8/27/2011)
I am interested in trying this product. I am wondering how long that little can will last me? Also I see where people are only useing just 1 spoonful into the liquid of choice. Does it also depend on how strong or weak you want your drink to be?

Why give it one star when you have not tried it? (9/2/2011)
Reviews are meant to be after you have not tried the product. Why did you rate it one star or 1.5 stars because you have questions?

Great product! ...and feedback is done AFTER trying a product. (9/17/2011)
The product is great. It doesn't taste as strong and is easier to drink than some green powder mixes. These reviews from those who have not tried the product should be removed. That's what customer service is for. This has caused a low rating for a product not even bought. That's insane.

Lovin TRIO MAX (9/22/2011)
I love this product. The carrot and beet sweeten the barley just enough. I am on my second container so far and would use more but its quite expensive.

TRY IT-Then You'll See Why Others Give it 5 Stars!! (9/23/2011)
I tried this product when it was brand new! It became my daily breakfast while I work! It made a difference in my every day and overall state of health and helped me to shed some pounds in the process! I could use it more consistently if it were less expensive, but price is not quality!! I love it!! It's definitely a 5 Star product!!

Heafty Price Increase! (9/27/2011)
The serving size has increased from 1t. to 1 T. making the price per serving rise from 33 cents to $2!! Three servings a day from $1 to $6 ... Hard to swallow on a stay-at-home mom budget. No pun intended.

Do the math correctly! (12/13/2011)
This is an excellent product! For those who don't know: Of course the serving size is 1 T. It is 3 teaspoons of the 3 products put together. 1 T.=3 tsp.

love this product (1/6/2012)
I use 1 household tablespoon in 8 oz of water or 1 T. in my morning smoothie. the small jar lasted me almost 2 weeks. since using it 2-3times a day I have been able to get off my sinus pills and can breathe thru my nose, something I have not done in 15 years. ready to order a big jar.

Great for when you can't juice (2/1/2012)
I use this when I can't juice but would use it MORE if it were not so expensive. I think the hacres should offer a "two for" price to help out those on a tight budget and at the same time encourage product sales resulting in increased revenue for them also.

TrioMax (2/8/2012)
Too expensive. period.

Great but expensive @ $60 a month (8/8/2012)
I really like to take this first up in the morning before I shower. I hate to give it up because I really do believe it is so good for me. But I cannot continue to pay the $60 a month for it.

Non-organic ingredients? (8/26/2012)
I noticed this warning at the bottom of the products details page on 8.26.12. I wanted to order but was concerned about the cost and the substitution of non-organic items. I am a big fan of Hallelujah Acres and will order when I can be assured everything is organic. "Due to temporary supply issues, the dehydrated carrot juice and beet juice in this product was made with non-organic produce. We are confident that this issue will not significantly affect the quality of this product. Please call the Hallelujah Acres customer service department at 800.915.9355 with questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding."

like to try, but too expensive (9/7/2012)
I've just started the hallelujah diet and would love to use this product daily. It is just too expensive for me to use. I wish it were more affordable.

Pricey (10/30/2012)
I agree with those who have stated conerns over the price. In today's economic times, shelling out that kind of money is not easy to do. Costs are part of the reason want to get more "natural" in dealing with my health - medical doctors are WAY overpriced!

Posted by: Dr. Wiggins - Century FL

Healthy (1/17/2013)
For those who are stating that it's too expensive, I look at it this way: I either spend $60/month on something that is making me healthier in a natural way or $60 or more/month on medications that may or may not be harmful to your body. Sure, the meds are either covered by your insurance or medicare and the Trio Max you have to pay for yourself but the biggest difference is how much better this TrioMax is for you than prescription drugs. Maybe one day insurance will pay for preventive measures instead of just paying the "after the illness" costs. Just my 2 cents. :)

expensive (4/3/2013)
What I find to be amazing is that this is expensive and does not last very long. Love the product, but makes it hard when on a fixed income.

need organic (6/8/2013)
I grew up on organic produce. I balk at buying something that is not fresh, and only partially organic. I will consider buying when all ingredients are organic

Posted by: Jen - FL

Convenient (10/18/2014)
I love having this on hand, especially when I start feeling under the weather. I guess it is costly, but I'm guessing it would cost just as much, or more, to juice an equivalent amount of those three freshly myself.
